We could tell you that waxing is a Middle Eastern tradition started by the ancient Egyptians for a desire to be cleanly. And that this cultural tradition was passed down generation to generation.
But we will not bore you. What you probably really want to know is about the "SISTERS" behind Sisters Salon.
Sisters, Jeannette Abou-Mourad and Elaine Youhanna were born and raised in Lebanon from a large family with 9 children. There, based on the traditions of their culture, they started developing their own waxing techniques and skin care remedies. When they arrived in the United States, the sisters had already honed their skills and immediately landed positions at the exclusive spa of the original Marshall Field's flagship store in downtown Chicago. They later transferred to the upstart Water Tower Place location. There they quickly rose in the ranks and became the most sought after estheticians on the Magnificent Mile and among the North Shore elite. Upon Marshall Field's store closings, the demand for their services resulted in the sisters opening their own salon in the Professional Suites of The Water Tower Place nearly 20 years ago. They took with them the knowledge gleaned from working at Marshall Field's which included their top-notch hygienic practices and high level of customer service. To keep up with the steady stream of loyal clients a second location was added a few years later at Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center.
