We wanted to provide you with as much information as possible so we have highlighted some frequently asked questions below. In order to provide you a better service, please contact us if you feel you have additional questions or feel that there is something missing that should be added. Thank you.
How clean is it really?
It's clean enough to eat off. The sisters use the original high level standards set when they worked at the original Marshall Field's downtown Chicago flagship store. And they even exceed those standards. What does that mean? It means you get 3 levels of protection on the table you will lie on. These are fresh, disposal, non-leak sheets. Plus there is no double dipping in a shared pot of wax. Double dipping will only be seen if you are doing large areas or multiple services and then the pot is yours and will be disposed of afterwards.
How often should I wax?
Waxing should be done every 4-5 weeks in the winters and 3-4 weeks in the summer.
What wax do you use?
We have 3 different flavors of waxes all for varying degrees of sensitives skin; 1. Sensitive, 2. Very Sensitive, and 3. Extremely Sensitive. Please let us know before treatment if you have a preference or concern.
How often should I have a facial treatment?
A general facial should be done 4 times a year, but a minimum of 2 times. Monthly would be the ideal. If you are having a skin issue you wish to treat, 6 weeks in a row is recommended. If you are preparing for a big event you should do your treatment one week before the event and have a trial some point before that.
Is there any reason not to do a facial or face wax treatment?
Yes. You should not get any facial treatment or face wax if you are on Accutane, Retinol, Retin-A, or other prescription strength skin medicines or serums. Be sure to check your skin care regiment for these ingredients. You need to be off of these drugs or serums for at least 10 days before undergoing a facial treatment and/or a face wax. However, you can schedule a Sisters' Calming Facial or Acne Treatment while on these medications.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended, but not always necessary if you are not pressed for time and do not mind waiting a little. We do take walks-ins as we all know there are times when something comes up, or you just want to get er' done. Even if you are late or missed your appointment, we will still make every attempt to accommodate you.
What is your Deposit and Cancellation Policy?
We require a 24-hour notice for canceling or rescheduling 45 minute or longer appointments. A $25 deposit is charged for all appointments that are 45 minutes or longer and for group appointments. That deposit will be applied towards your scheduled appointment. If you fail to cancel or reschedule within the time frame, you will lose the $25 deposit, and we reserve the right to charge up to the full amount of the service scheduled. After the 3rd no show or late cancellation, you will be required to pre-pay for the entire service if you want to schedule a new appointment or you are welcome to come in as a walk in for your service(s).
What if I want to try a different cosmetologist or esthetician?
No one on our staff is on commission. All the staff has been trained under the supervision of the Sisters. They will all provide you with the same great wax and/or facial treatment. That said, you should never feel embarrassed to switch it up with the staff. There are no egos here. Sometimes it just clicks with someone. Should that someone not be available, don't feel like your cheating on them. Go ahead and try someone new.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Check, Credit Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay (excluding American Express).
What is your return policy?
Unopened products must be returned within 10 days of purchase with a receipt for a full refund; final sale products cannot be refunded. We reserve the right to not accept a return if the product has been used or damaged in any way. Products ordered online will have the cost of shipping deducted from refund. Refund will only be issued once the product is received. Please contact sisters@sisterssalon.com if you wish to make a return.
